On February 02, 2018, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam signed Decision 172/QD-TTg approving the number of official personnel for the year 2018.

The total quota for officials in 2018 is 265,106 (excluding quotas of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam; official in public service providers and commune-level officials). To be specific:

- Quota for officials in state administrative agencies and organizations: 263,621 quotas. Specifically:

+ Agencies and administrative organizations under Ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the Government of Vietnam, organizations established by the Government of Vietnam, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam that are not public service providers: 107,392 quotas;

+ Agencies and administrative organizations under the bodies of the People's Council, People's Committee at provincial and district levels: 155,161 quotas;

+ Vietnamese representative agencies abroad: 1,068 quotas.

- Reserve official quota for officials: 799 quotas;

- Total official quota of nationwide special agencies: 686 quotas.

Detailed official quotas by Ministries, sectors, and by provinces and cities are provided in the attached annex of Decision No. 172/QD-TTg, effective from the date of signing.
