To promulgate national technical regulations on safety of fixed metal gas pipelines in Vietnam

Issued together with Circular 23/2023/TT-BCT National technical regulations on the safety of fixed metal gas pipelines.

Symbol: QCVN 20:2023/BCT

QCVN 20:2023/BTC is compiled by the Drafting Committee of National Technical Regulations on safety of fixed metal gas pipelines, submitted for approval by the Department of Industrial Safety and Environment, and appraised by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Scope:

This regulation regulates safety technical requirements in the design, manufacture, installation, use, repair, maintenance, inspection, testing, and inspection of fixed metal gas pipelines. .

QCVN 20:2023/BTC - National technical regulation on the safety of fixed metal gas pipelines does not apply to:

- Offshore gas pipeline.

- Fixed metal gas pipes belonging to gas transport vehicles.

- Fixed metal gas pipes belonging to technological equipment and auxiliary gas and fuel systems.

- Underground gas pipelines in urban areas have a maximum operating pressure of less than or equal to 0.7 MPa.

Applicable objects:

The regulations apply to organizations and individuals involved in the design, manufacture, supply, installation, use, repair, maintenance, inspection, testing, and inspection of fixed metal gas pipelines. 

Circular 23/2023/TT-BCT and the National Technical Regulations on safety of fixed metal gas pipelines take effect on May 31, 2024.

Circular 31/2016/TT-BCT, dated December 15, 2016, promulgating National Technical Regulations on safety of fixed metal gas pipelines and Regulation QCVN 01:2016/BCT - National technical regulation on the safety of fixed metal gas Pipelines—expires on the effective date of Circular 23/2023/TT-BCT.
