To promote the application of IT - communications in the State Statistics System in Vietnam

To promote the implementation of information and communication technology applications in the State Statistics System in 2023 and the following years, te Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Planning and Investment to preside over and coordinate with ministries, branches and localities to continue implementing the Project's tasks, focusing on the following main contents:

- Promote the connection of administrative data of ministries and branches to exploit and use for statistical work, thereby serving as the foundation for building a national statistical database.

- Continue to research large data sources to serve the compilation of statistical indicators; coordinate with the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to research and apply modern technology in statistical work.

- Urgently guide and deploy statistical reporting data collection to serve the national, provincial, district, and commune statistical indicator systems on a digital platform.

- Planning, upgrading and expanding information and communication technology infrastructure to meet the requirements of implementing the Project's tasks, which are presided over by ministries, branches and central agencies.

- Continue to mobilize domestic and foreign resources, allocate funds in the medium-term public investment plan to implement the Project.

- Complete and submit to the Prime Minister for approval the Project to build a national statistical database under the Vietnam Statistical Development Strategy for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2045 to implement synchronously and consistently with the Project's tasks and other related Programs and Projects, ensuring no duplication and effectiveness.
