To promote communication on the prevention and control of harmful effects of alcoholic beverages in Vietnam

The Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam approved the Scheme for Communication on the prevention and control of harmful effects of alcoholic beverages until 2030 with the following tasks and solutions:

- Strengthen the leadership and direction of the Communist Party committees and authorities on communication work for the prevention and control of harmful effects of alcoholic beverages. Party committees and authorities at all levels shall issue resolutions, plans, invest funds, and mobilize resources to implement the Scheme.

- Develop and disseminate communication materials on the prevention and control of harmful effects of alcoholic beverages suitable for sectors, fields, and localities; provide and disseminate communication materials promptly, in diverse forms, for the communication system from the central to local levels.

- Regularly organize training to enhance capacity and communication skills for participants engaged in communication work on the prevention and control of harmful effects of alcoholic beverages from the central to local levels.

- Deploy effective and appropriate communication forms:

+ Regularly organize communication programs and campaigns on the prevention and control of harmful effects of alcoholic beverages in various forms, including mobile propaganda teams; communication linked with contests; activities, events in health, culture, sports, and tourism.

+ Carry out communication activities on the prevention and control of harmful effects of alcoholic beverages via mass media, social networks, the internet, mobile phones, and online consultations.

+ Implement communication forms on the prevention and control of harmful effects of alcoholic beverages to every individual; focus on communication at public places, tourist sites, entertainment venues; organize propaganda conferences, disseminate policies and laws on the prevention and control of harmful effects of alcoholic beverages for relevant agencies, organizations, and individuals.

Embed communication content on the prevention and control of harmful effects of alcoholic beverages into village conventions, cultural norms of regions, localities, residential areas; organize communication activities on the prevention and control of harmful effects of alcoholic beverages in educational institutions suitable to the age of students; deploy and expand initiatives, communication models on the prevention and control of harmful effects of alcoholic beverages in Vietnam.

- Regularly conduct inspections, supervision, and evaluation of communication activities on the prevention and control of harmful effects of alcoholic beverages from the central to local levels; promptly rectify and handle organizations and individuals who disseminate false information not conforming to the law on the prevention and control of harmful effects of alcoholic beverages in Vietnam.
