Supreme People's Court of Vietnam issued Decision 38/QD-TANDTC dated February 24, 2023 on the plan to verify assets and income in 2023

The Supreme People's Court of Vietnam issued Decision 38/QD-TANDTC dated February 24, 2023 on the plan to verify assets and income in 2023.

According to Vietnam's Decision 38/QD-TANDTC, the criteria for selecting people whose assets and income are verified are as follows:

- Being a person who is obliged to declare assets and income;

- The assets and income have not been verified for a period of 04 consecutive years from December 31, 2021, or earlier.

Do not choose to verify the assets and income of the following people:

- Persons being investigated, prosecuted, or tried;

- The person is being treated for a serious illness certified by a competent health authority;

- People who are studying or working abroad for 12 months or more.

In addition, the form of selection for people whose assets and income are verified is as follows:

- The person to be verified at each agency or unit is randomly selected by lottery.

- When selecting the person to be verified, the Asset and Income Control Agency invites a representative of the Party Committee's Inspection Committee at the same level to attend and witness.

- The selection of verified persons shall be recorded in writing.

Vietnam's Decision 38/QD-TANDTC takes effect from February 24, 2023.
