On July 24, 2024, the Prime Minister of Vietnam issued Decision 11/2024/QD-TTg on standards for area and norms for furniture for official houses.

Standards for area and norms for furniture for official houses of central agencies in Vietnam from August 1, 2024

The standards for area and norms for furniture for official houses of central agencies in Vietnam from August 1, 2024, are as follows:

- For the positions of General Secretary, President, Prime Minister of Vietnam, and Chairman of the National Assembly, official houses for lease must meet usage needs, work conditions, and security and protection requirements as per regulations.

- The Permanent Members of the Secretariat, Members of the Politburo, and Members of the Secretariat are provided with official villas for lease, with the following requirements:

+  Villas  no  higher  than  04  storeys;

+  Land  area  for  construction  from  450  m2  to  500  m2;

+  Includes  a  yard,  garden,  fencing,  and  separate  entrance,  ensuring  a  security  and  protection  system  as  per  regulations;

+  The  maximum  expenditure  for  furnishings  not  attached  to  the  official  residence  specified  in  this  section  is  350  million  VND.

- The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy, Vice President, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, and Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam are provided with official villas for lease, meeting the following requirements:

+  Villas  no  higher  than  04  storeys;

+  Land  area  for  construction  from  350  m2  to  under  450  m2;

+  Includes  a  yard,  garden,  fencing,  and  separate  entrance,  ensuring  a  security  and  protection  system  as  per  regulations;

+  The  maximum  expenditure  for  furnishings  not  attached  to  the  official  residence  specified  in  this  section  is  300  million  VND.

- The Central Committee members of the Communist Party, heads of Central Party agencies, heads of the National Assembly Committees, Ministers, heads of central political-social organizations, and equivalent or higher positions are provided with one of the two types of official houses for lease, including:

+  Adjoining  houses  with  a  land  area  from  200  m2  to  250  m2,  no  higher  than  04  storeys,  designed  as  adjoining  houses  with  a  garden  or  townhouses,  built  adjacently,  with  all  storeys  sharing  common  technical  infrastructure;

+  Apartments  with  a  usable  area  from  145  m2  to  160  m2,  designed  with  enclosed  living  spaces  and  additional  functional  spaces  such  as:  living  room,  bedrooms,  dining  room,  kitchen,  sanitary  area,  balcony,  or  loggia;

+  The  maximum  expenditure  for  furnishings  not  attached  to  the  official  residence  specified  in  this  section  is  250  million  VND.
