New: Abuse of domestic workers is fined up to 75 million VND

On January 17, 2022, the Government issued Decree 12/2022/ND-CP stipulating penalties for administrative violations in the field of labor, social insurance, and Vietnamese workers working abroad. According to the Contract.

Accordingly, supplementing regulations on fines for employers who mistreat domestic workers, specifically as follows:

A fine of between VND 50-75 million shall be imposed on an employer who abuses , sexually harasses, forced labor, or uses force against an employee who is a domestic worker but not to the extent Criminal prosecution.

(This is a new and added rule compared to the previous one)

In addition, Decree 12/2022 also adds regulations on fines of 1-3 million dong for employers who commit one of the following acts:

- Failing to notify the People's Committee of the commune, ward or township of the use of labor or termination of the employment of domestic workers as prescribed;

- Has been sanctioned with warning for violations specified in Clause 1, Article 30 of Decree 12/2022 but continues to violate.

Decree 12/2022/ND-CP takes effect from January 17, 2022 and replaces Decree 28/2020/ND-CP .
