Recently, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam signed and promulgated Decision 28/2020/QD-TTg regarding the List of scraps permitted for import as production materials in Vietnam.

Issued together with Decision 28 is the List of scraps permitted for import as production materials in Vietnam.

Additionally, this Decision stipulates the roadmap for certain types of scraps permitted for import as production materials in Vietnam until December 31, 2021, as follows:

- Recovered (waste and scrap) paper or paperboard: Other, including unsorted waste and scrap (HS code 4707.90.00);

- Granulated slag (slag sand) from the iron or steel industry (including granulated small slag, slag sand from the iron, steel industry) (HS code 2618.00.00).

Note: Types of scraps allowed for import under the Certificate of Environmental Protection Qualification in Scrap Imports for Use as Production Materials, issued by the competent authority in accordance with legal regulations, shall be continued to import until the expiration of the Certificate in Vietnam.
