Key tasks regarding cybersecurity in Vietnam in 2024

To ensure synchronization and consistency from the central to local levels in raising awareness and implementing practical and effective measures to ensure cybersecurity in the operations of state agencies and organizations, and to contribute to enhancing the security of the national cyberspace, the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam respectfully proposes that the esteemed directing agencies focus on implementing the following key tasks in cybersecurity in 2024 within the scope of their management:

(1) Ensuring the safety of information systems at different levels, with the objective of:

- Approving the proposal for the level of information systems under management by September 2024.

- Fully implementing the approved security plans for information systems under management by December 2024.

(2) Maintaining and enhancing the effectiveness of information security work based on the "4-layer" model, with the objective of:

Ensuring that 100% of agency and organizational information systems are effectively secured and compliant with the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Information and Communications; enhancing the capabilities of monitoring, professional protection, and connection and information sharing with the national monitoring system.

(3) Checking compliance with cybersecurity laws and regulations, with the objective of:

Conducting inspections and assessments of compliance with cybersecurity regulations for 100% of ministries, central authorities, and localities.

(4) Efficient utilization of digital platforms, with the objective of:

Ensuring that 100% of ministries, sectors, and localities effectively implement and apply the provided platforms to carry out state management and law enforcement within their management scope, facilitating digital transformation and monitoring and measuring cybersecurity activities.

(5) Prevention of online fraud, with the objective of:

Regular and continuous dissemination of information to the public in the localities through network organizations, mass media, information systems, and social networks.

(6) Conducting practical cybersecurity exercises, with the objective of:

Organizing practical exercises for cybersecurity by all ministries, central authorities, and localities in 2024.
