Investor must perform authentication each time conducting online securities transactions

This is the newly added content in Circular 73/2020/TT-BTC amending and supplementing several articles of Circular 134/2017/TT-BTC on guiding electronic transactions in the securities market.

To be specific, according to Clause 3, Article 1 of Circular 73/2020/TT-BTC, amending Clause 2 and supplementing Clause 4, Article 8 of Circular 134/2017/TT-BTC from October 01, 2020, each time online securities transactions are conducted, investors must authenticate according to the regulations.

When placing orders via phone, investors must use the registered phone number and provide information for authentication as stipulated in Point a, Clause 1, Article 8 of Circular 134. Transactions will only be executed when the information provided by the investor matches the information registered and stored in the online securities trading system.

Investors can choose an authentication solution provided by the organization offering online securities trading services when registering to use online securities trading services and they are allowed to re-register the authentication solution when needed.
