The Commission for Information and Education issued the Instruction 159-HD/BTGTW dated July 3, 2024, on the implementation of the regulation on revolutionary ethics standards for officials and party members in Vietnam in the new phase
The Commission for Information and Education guides the implementation of the Regulation on Revolutionary Ethics Standards for officials and Party members in the new era, addressing some general issues as follows:
- Ethics constitutes the foundational spiritual element of society, closely linked to practical human activities, reflected through conduct rules aligned with community and national customs and morals, forming a traditional cultural beauty.
- The revolutionary ethics that our Communist Party of Vietnam builds is communist ethics, based on the foundation of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought, inheriting and developing the precious traditional values of the nation and the ethical cultural essence of humanity; reflecting dialectical thinking, unifying recognition and revolutionary action in the line of national independence tied with socialism, national liberation - class liberation - social liberation - human liberation. "Revolutionary ethics can be summarized as: Recognize right and wrong. Maintain a firm stance. Be loyal to the country. Be dutiful to the people"; "Determined to struggle for the Party, for the revolution throughout life. That is the most crucial point."
For officials and Party members, revolutionary ethics is the root, the foundation. Only when officials and Party members recognize and act correctly and precisely according to revolutionary ethics standards can high unity and great strength of the entire Communist Party of Vietnam be achieved, pushing back improper, incorrect, and deviant perceptions affecting the Communist Party of Vietnam's prestige and honor; thereby possessing the will, awareness, and behavior of proper, pure revolutionary ethics, the spirit of service, and dedication for the nation's development, the people's happiness, and human progress.
- Revolutionary ethics standards are principles and rules serving as benchmarks and models to evaluate and adjust the behavior of officials and Party members, tied to the Communist ideal and political task of the Communist Party of Vietnam, creating a basis for officials and Party members to consciously study, strive, cultivate, train, and self-adjust conduct in daily work.
- Criteria for evaluating the implementation of revolutionary ethics standards serve as the basis for determining the extent of implementation of revolutionary ethics standards by each official and Party member.
