Recently, Vietnam Social Security issued Official Dispatch 85/BHXH-GDB to provide guidance on several contents in the statistical payment of medical examination and treatment (MET) costs covered by health insurance.

When recording information regarding the health insurance card code on the Cost Summary of Medical Examination and Treatment, healthcare facilities must follow the guidance below:

- The information regarding the health insurance card code on the Cost Summary of Medical Examination and Treatment, as well as forms C79a-HD, C80a-HD, and corresponding data, should be recorded according to the health insurance card that is still valid when the patient comes for medical examination and treatment;- Information in the XML file is recorded in accordance with Decision 4210/QD-BYT;- In cases where the patient has changed personal information, the information of the newly issued health insurance card should be used.

Additionally, provincial Social Insurance agencies are responsible for requiring healthcare facilities to consolidate all treatment costs of the patient into a single Medical Examination and Treatment Cost Summary.
