General Department of Taxation to require the implementation of the Decree on extending the tax payment deadline in Vietnam 2023

On April 14, 2023, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree 12/2023/ND-CP extending the deadline for payment of value added tax, corporate income tax, personal income tax, and land rent in 2023. .
 
Decree 12/2023/ND-CP dated April 14, 2023 takes effect from the date of signing (April 14, 2023) to the end of December 31, 2023.
 
Decree 12/2023/ND-CP dated April 14, 2023 extending the deadline for payment of value-added tax, corporate income tax, personal income tax, and land rent to support businesses and people, promote production and business, Decree 12/2023/ND-CP stipulates the extension time as follows:
 
Extension of 06 months for the value added tax amount from March to May 2023 and the first quarter of 2023, extension of 5 months for the value added tax amount of June 2023 and the second quarter of 2023, an extension of 4 months for the value added tax amount of July 2023, and an extension of 3 months for the value added tax amount of August 2023;
 
3 months extension for the corporate income tax amount temporarily paid in the first and second quarters of the corporate income tax period of 2023;
 
Business households and individuals shall pay value-added tax and personal income tax in 2023 by December 30, 2023 at the latest; a 6-month extension for 50% of the arising land rent payable in 2023.
 
Taxpayers eligible for the extension shall send a written request for an extension of one-time payment of tax and land rent for the entire amount of tax and land rent incurred in the extended tax periods together with the time of submitting monthly (or quarterly) tax declaration dossiers in accordance with the law on tax administration.
 
If the application for extension is not submitted at the same time as the tax return, the deadline is September 30, 2023.
 
The General Department of Taxation of Vietnam requested the Tax Department to propagate and disseminate information to taxpayers in the area to promptly implement Decree 12/2023/ND-CP of the Government to support businesses and people, promote production, and promote business.
