From March 16, 2018, the Pilot Program for Electronic Payment and Collection of Registration Fees Will Commence

Circular 05/2018/TT-BTC was issued on January 22, 2018, providing guidance on the pilot implementation of electronic declaration and payment of vehicle registration fees for cars and motorcycles, as well as the exchange of data when carrying out this procedure.

The contents of electronic registration fee data exchange between the General Department of Taxation and the Traffic Police Department include:

- Dossier code;- Tax code (if any);- Name of the taxpayer;- Address;- Phone number;- Type of vehicle;- Brand;- Model/Commercial name;- Engine number;- Chassis number;- Displacement or electric power or load capacity;- Permitted number of passengers (including the driver);- Country of manufacture;- Year of manufacture;- License plate, registration number (for vehicles already registered with ownership, usage rights);- Date of payment;- Asset value according to the invoice or other valid documents;- Asset value for registration fee calculation;- Registration fee rate;- Amount of registration fee paid.

Circular 05/2018/TT-BTC is effective from March 16, 2018, to December 31, 2019.
