Foreign Nationals Entering Vietnam for Short-term Work Exempt from Centralized Quarantine

Recently, the Ministry of Health issued Official Dispatch No. 4674/BYT-MT providing medical guidelines for COVID-19 prevention and control for foreign nationals entering Vietnam for short-term work (less than 14 days).

Foreign individuals entering Vietnam for short-term work will not be required to undergo the mandatory 14-day centralized quarantine but must strictly and fully comply with the regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control.

Individuals in contact with experts and incoming guests for diplomatic and official purposes must self-monitor their health. If they exhibit any symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, or difficulty breathing, they must report to the managing authority and local healthcare services.

Ministries, sectors, and provincial/municipal People's Committees should consider the need to invite experts and incoming guests for diplomatic and official purposes to work in Vietnam for short terms and must ensure COVID-19 prevention and control measures.

After 14 days from the date of entry, if experts and incoming guests for diplomatic and official purposes wish to continue working in Vietnam and test negative for SARS-CoV-2, they are allowed to work normally without quarantine.

For more details, see Official Dispatch 4674/BYT-MT issued on August 31, 2020.
