Effective July 1, 2016, Strict Enforcement on Unregistered Electric Motorbikes

That is the directive of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc to the Ministry of Public Security regarding the strengthening of electric motorcycle management mentioned in Official Dispatch 1822/VPCP-KTN dated March 21, 2016.

To be specific:, the Ministry of Public Security is responsible for directing the enhancement of inspections and handling cases of electric motorcycle use that violate road traffic laws (not wearing helmets), combined with reminders, propaganda, and mobilizing citizens to register their electric motorcycles.

At the same time, it directs the inspection, investigation, and strict legal handling of organizations and individuals involved in the illegal production, business, and import of electric motorcycles.

Starting from July 1, 2016, strict actions will be taken against cases of unregistered electric motorcycles operating on the road.

Additionally, the Deputy Prime Minister also assigns the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Information and Communications, along with the People's Committees of provinces and centrally governed cities, to carry out the management of these electric motorcycles.
