Covid-19 prevention: Prime Minister of Vietnam requests "to not cause unnecessary obstruction"

According to Vietnam's Official Dispatch 931/VPCP-KGVX, the press has reflected on the "blocking the river to ban the market" and inappropriate medical isolation in some localities. Regarding this, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has the following directives:

- People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities:

• Decide to apply epidemic prevention and control measures suitable to the risk level of each area in the area, ensuring zoning, isolation, and blockade in the most compact scope; minimize adverse impacts on people's lives and activities and production and business, especially transportation of passengers, goods, and production materials during the Vietnamese Lunar New Year; take specific measures to create favorable conditions for people to consume goods and agricultural products, especially in epidemic-affected and blocked-off areas;

• Applying measures of concentrated isolation and home isolation for people coming from COVID-19 epidemic areas in accordance with the guidance of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam

• The Ministry of Health of Vietnam shall inspect, direct, and identify specific epidemic areas according to the principle of "circling as much as possible" to serve the dual objectives so that localities can apply appropriate measures for people to celebrate the Vietnamese Lunar New Year without unnecessary interference.
