Conditions for taking the examination for promotion to the professional title of university lecturer

The Ministry of Education and Training has recently issued Circular 08/2018/TT-BGDDT regulating the conditions, content, and forms for considering promotion of professional titles for public employees teaching in public higher education institutions.

University lecturers are eligible to apply for rank promotion to the Professional Title Code (CDNN) when they meet the following conditions:

- The public higher education institution has a need and is authorized to nominate them for the rank promotion examination;- They have satisfactorily completed their duties for 03 consecutive years up to the deadline for submission of the application for examination;- They are evaluated to have sufficient quality, professional ethics; not under disciplinary action or have received a notice regarding the consideration for disciplinary action;- They meet the standards of the rank of CDNN they are applying for as specified in Inter-Ministerial Circular 36/2014/TTLT-BGDDT-BNV;- They currently hold the CDNN:- Lecturer (Rank III), code V.07.01.03 for public employees applying for rank promotion to Principal Lecturer (Rank II), code V.07.01.02;- Principal Lecturer (Rank II), code V.07.01.02 for public employees applying for rank promotion to Senior Lecturer (Rank I), code V.07.01.01.

Circular 08/2018/TT-BGDDT took effect on April 27, 2018.
