Circular on Illiteracy Elimination Programme to be promulgated

On November 26, 2021, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam promulgated Circular 33/2021/TT-BGDĐT on the Illiteracy Elimination Programme.

According to the Circular, the curriculum of the Illiteracy Elimination Programme is divided into 2 phases with a total of 1,954 lessons:

- Phase 1: Includes 03 subjects (Vietnamese, Math, Nature and Society).

Total of 1,005 lessons; divided into 3 semesters (term 1, term 2 and term 3).

- Phase 2: Includes 04 subjects (Vietnamese, Math, Science, History and Geography).

Total of 949 lessons; divided into 2 semesters (terms 4 and 5).

In which, term 5 has many elective learning topics within the course.

Regarding the integrated subject, the Informatics and Technology is integrated into the Science, including 110 Science lessons, 50 Technology lessons and 40 Informatics lessons.

In addition, Circular 33/2021 also stipulates 02 methods of assessing the learning outcomes of the course including: regular assessment and periodical assessment.

These regulations apply to classes enrolling from January 11, 2022.
