August 6 is designated as Vietnam's Cybersecurity Day

Officially, August 6 each year is designated as Vietnam's Cybersecurity Day.

Vietnam's Cybersecurity Day is organized annually to accelerate the implementation of national cybersecurity tasks; to raise the awareness of the public and the whole society about the role, significance, and benefits of cybersecurity. Concurrently, it promotes the participation of the entire political system, synchronized actions at all levels, and the involvement of the entire populace to ensure the effective functioning of cybersecurity measures.

The Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam assigns the Ministry of Public Security to preside and cooperate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Information and Communications, relevant ministries and central authorities, and the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to develop specific implementation plans; to guide and direct the organization of activities for Vietnam's Cybersecurity Day annually to ensure practicality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the Government of Vietnam, People's Committees of provinces, and centrally-run cities shall base on the implementation plans and guidance of the Ministry of Public Security and practical conditions of each ministry, central authority, and local authority to organize appropriate activities to disseminate information for Vietnam's Cybersecurity Day annually at their respective ministries, central authorities, and local authorities.

Simultaneously, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Vietnam Cybersecurity Association, the Vietnam Information Security Association, the Vietnam Information Technology Association, the Vietnam Internet Association, and other related associations are assigned to direct their member organizations to participate in and organize activities for Vietnam's Cybersecurity Day annually. Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, and Vietnam News Agency are tasked with developing plans to propagate cybersecurity and Vietnam's Cybersecurity Day on their channels.
