Amendments to fee for issuance of certificate of eligibility for providing karaoke in Vietnam

Recently, the Minister of Finance of Vietnam has just issued the Circular No. 01/2021/TT-BTC regulating fees for licensing karaoke an nightclub services and submission, collection, management and use thereof.

In comparison with the Circular No. 212/2016/TT-BTC, fee for issuance of certificate of eligibility for providing karaoke in central-affiliated cities and cities, townlets affiliated to provinces has been changed a lot according to the new Circular No. 01/2021/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam, specifically as follows:

- From 1 to 3 rooms: VND 4,000,000/certificate.

- From 4 to 5 rooms: VND 6,000,000/certificate.

- 6 rooms or more: VND 12,000,000/certificate.

It can be seen that the Circular No. 01/2021/TT-BTC has divided the number of karaoke rooms into 03 levels as above, which helps to reduce costs for small businesses. For example, if a business has only 1 to 3 rooms, the fee for certificate issuance is only VND 4,000,000/certificate instead of VND 6,000,000/certificate for an establishment with 01 to 05 rooms.

Note: Fee for revision of certificate of eligibility for providing karaoke service in case of additional rooms shall be VND 2,000,000/room; total fee must not exceed VND 12,000,000/certificate/instance of revision (The current regulation does not stipulate total fee in case of additional rooms).
