Amendment of Regulations on Number of On-Duty Hours During Natural Disasters and Floods from May 15, 2018

The Ministry of Transport has just issued Circular 12/2018/TT-BGTVT stipulating the work on disaster prevention and control in the field of inland waterways.

In the event of sudden natural disasters or floods, a 24/7 duty schedule must be organized, dividing shifts into two per day, including weekends and holidays, with the following duty hours:

- Shift 1: 12 hours, from 7:00 to 19:00 (currently 9 hours, from 7:30 to 16:30);- Shift 2: 12 hours, from 19:00 to 7:00 the next morning (currently 15 hours, from 16:30 to 7:30 the next morning).

Units and enterprises must organize duty shifts as stipulated above in the case of tropical depressions and storms. The duty period begins from the point when a 24-hour landfall forecast is announced by the Hydrometeorological Forecast Center.

During the rainy season and on days without natural disasters, agencies and units shall organize duty shifts according to regular working hours.

More details can be found in Circular 12/2018/TT-BGTVT, effective from May 15, 2018.
