On August 26, 2020, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Circular 26/2020/TT-BGDDT amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Regulation on assessment and classification of lower secondary and upper secondary students promulgated together with Circular 58/2011/TT-BGDDT.
The types of testing and evaluation for lower secondary (THCS) and upper secondary (THPT) students are amended as follows:
- Regular testing and evaluation:
- Conducted during the teaching and educational process to check and evaluate the implementation process and results of students' learning and training tasks;- Conducted directly or online through methods such as Q&A, writing, presentations, practice, experiments, and learning products;- The frequency of regular testing and evaluation is not limited.
- Periodic testing and evaluation:
- Conducted after each educational phase to evaluate students' learning and training results and the degree of fulfillment of their learning tasks;- Periodic testing and evaluation, including mid-term and end-of-term assessments, are carried out through: tests (on paper or on computers), practical assignments, and learning projects.
