Amending and Supplementing the Periodic Assessment Criteria for Primary School Students

The Ministry of Education and Training has just issued Circular 22/2016/TT-BGDDT amending and supplementing Circular 30/2014/TT-BGDDT regarding the assessment of primary school students.

Adjustments to the periodic evaluation levels for academics, competencies, and qualities are as follows:

- Regarding academics:- Based on continuous assessment and knowledge, skills standards to evaluate students for each subject, educational activity according to three levels: Well Completed, Completed, and Not Completed;- Periodical test questions are designed to align with knowledge, skill standards and the competency development orientation according to levels from 1 to 4;- Regarding competencies and qualities:
Based on expressions related to awareness, skills, and attitudes during continuous assessment of the formation and development of each student's competencies and qualities according to levels: Good, Satisfactory, and Needs Improvement.

At the same time, teachers conduct continuous assessments through comments, and periodic evaluations by combining scores with comments; combining evaluations from teachers, students, and parents, with the teachers' evaluations being the most important.

Circular 22/2016/TT-BGDDT comes into effect from November 06, 2016.
