Abolition of Technical Conditions for Prize Electronic Game Machines

On June 02, 2017, the Ministry of Finance issued Circular 57/2017/TT-BTC amending and supplementing certain regulations on the business of electronic games with prizes for foreigners.

Effective from July 17, 2017, annul a number of provisions of Circular 11/2014/TT-BTC guiding Decree 86/2013/ND-CP on the business of electronic gaming with prizes for foreigners. Specifically:

- Article 9: Regulations on Manufacturers, suppliers of electronic gaming machines with prizes and independent organizations for verification of electronic gaming machines with prizes;- Article 10: Regulations on technical conditions of electronic gaming machines with prizes.

Simultaneously, the Ministry of Finance stipulates:

- Enterprises under Clause 16 Article 1 of Decree 175/2016/ND-CP that are currently engaging in the business of electronic gaming with prizes may continue to operate the gaming machines that have been purchased in compliance with legal regulations through various periods until they are replaced with new machines;- If replacing new machines, follow the provisions of Decree 86, Decree 175, and Circular 11.
