Abolishing Regulation: Hotel Management Must Be Trained in Tourism Operations

This is the significant content stipulated in Decree 142/2018/ND-CP amending several regulations on business investment conditions under the state management of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

In this Decree, one of the minimum conditions regarding the physical facilities and technical services of hotels is abolished, which is the requirement that hotel managers and staff must undergo training in tourism operations.

Thus, hotel establishments are allowed to operate if they fully meet the following conditions:

- Have at least 10 guestrooms; a reception desk, and a common restroom;- Have parking for guests for resort hotels and roadside hotels;- Have a kitchen, dining room, and food service for resort hotels, floating hotels, and roadside hotels;- Have beds, mattresses, blankets, pillows, face towels, and bath towels; change mattress covers, blanket covers, pillow covers, face towels, and bath towels when there are new guests;- Have staff on duty 24 hours a day.
