To simplify and reduce the musical performances of Mid-Autumn Festival in Vietnam

Following Official Dispatch 3099/BLDTBXH-CTE dated July 15, 2024, by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs regarding the organization of the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2024, as many provinces and cities in the Northern region are focusing on recovering from the aftermath of typhoon No. 3 and subsequent floods, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam requests the People's Committees of the provinces and cities to supplement the directions given to their Departments, central authorities, and local People's Committees for organizing the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2024, with the following points:

- Pay attention to and care for organizing the 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival activities for children in a suitable manner ensuring safety, thriftiness, and substance, avoiding ostentation and formality, especially in areas affected by typhoon No. 3 and post-typhoon floods and disasters; absolutely do not organize events that gather many children and people if safety cannot be assured at the event locations and during travel due to natural disasters and floods; instead, consider organizing online, on television, and delivering gifts to children (if possible).

- The program, activities, events, and Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations should be simplified and reduce cultural performances. The main contents should include: reading the Letter from the General Secretary and President to the children on the occasion of the 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival; prioritizing giving Mid-Autumn gifts to children in special circumstances, children from poor and near-poor households, children from ethnic minority areas, remote regions, border areas, islands, orphans, and children affected by natural disasters, typhoons, and floods in Vietnam.

- On the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival activities in 2024, enhance the education of solidarity spirit, mutual support, and "the good leaves protect the worn-out leaves" among children; provide information and updates on the impact of typhoons and floods in localities, and encourage the sharing, contributions, and support from children, families, and communities so that children affected by typhoons and floods can quickly return to school and stabilize their lives.
