On December 30, 2024, the Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam promulgated Circular No. 30/2024/TT-BGDDT on regulations on lower secondary and high school enrollment, effective as of February 12, 2025.
According to the Circular, the following students shall be eligible for direct admission to high schools:
- Students of lower secondary boarding schools for ethnic groups.
- Students who are people of ethnic minorities.
- Students who are people with disabilities.
- Lower secondary students achieving national prizes organized by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam or organized by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam’s cooperation with other ministries and ministerial agencies nationwide regarding competitions, examinations, and contests (hereinafter referred to as “competitions”) concerning culture, art performance, and sports; competitions for scientific and technical research.
- Lower secondary students achieving prizes in international competitions appointed by the Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam
On January 9, 2025, the Minister of Health of Vietnam promulgated Circular No. 02/2025/TT-BYT on professional codes and standards of nurses, midwives, and medical technicians, effective as of March 1, 2025.
According to the Circular, the professional ethical standards of nurses, midwives, and medical technicians are as follows:
- Being dedicated to serving, protecting, and improving people’s health.
- Being knowledgeable and complying with the code of conduct of health public employees.
- Engaging in professional practices in compliance with professional technical mechanisms, regulations, processes, and other relevant laws.
- Continuously learning to improve professional qualifications and capacity.
- Being honest, objective, fair, responsible, united, respect, and cooperative with colleagues in professional practices.
On December 30, 2024, the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam promulgated Circular No. 17/2024/TT-BTTTT on guidelines on the Law on Emulation and Commendation in Information and Communications Authorities, Effective as of February 15, 2025.
According to the Circular, the persons eligible for “For the Cause of Information and Communications” Commemorative Medals include:
- People in the relevant authorities:
Officials, public employees, and employees working in agencies, units, organizations, and enterprises that engage in fields concerning information and communications.
Persons in relevant authorities that have retired or resigned under regulations of the State or transferred outside of authorities for less than one year compared to the time limit for assessment for the Commemorative Medal award.
- Persons outside of relevant authorities: Vietnamese citizens (including Vietnamese citizens living and working abroad); foreigners (including Vietnamese with foreign nationality) with contributions to the construction and development of information and communications.
On December 31, 2024, the Minister of Labor – War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam promulgated Circular No. 14/2024/TT-BLDTBXH on criteria and standards of vocational education quality inspection, effective as of February 15, 2025.
According to the Circular, the criteria for quality inspection of intermediate schools and colleges (hereinafter referred to as “schools”) include:
Criterion 1 – Missions, objectives, organization, and management;
Criterion 2 – Training activities;
Criterion 3 – Teachers, managers, public employees, and employees;
Criterion 4 - Training programs and curriculums;
Criterion 5 – Facilities and training equipment;
Criterion 6 – Scientific research and international cooperation;
Criterion 7 – Learners and support for learners;
Criterion 8 – Quality supervision and assessment.
