Do children of people with meritorious services to the revolution have priority in university enrollment in Vietnam?

People who are active in the resistance war for national liberation, defense of the Fatherland, fulfilling international obligations and their relatives are entitled to a number of preferential regimes under the Ordinance on Incentives for People with Meritorious Services to the Revolution. Therefore, do children of people with meritorious services to the revolution have priority in university enrollment in Vietnam?

According to Article 36 of Ordinance 02/2020/UBTVQH14 on the Ordinance on Incentives for People with Meritorious Services to the Revolution, people who are recognized as "people who are active in the resistance war for national liberation, defense of the Fatherland, and international obligations" shall enjoy the following privileges in Vietnam:

+ One-time allowance.

+ Health insurance.

+ Support for house improvement based on each person's merits and circumstances or when having housing difficulties;

+ Exemption or reduction in land use levy when the state allocates residential land, changes the land use purpose to residential land, recognizes the right to use residential land, or purchases state-owned houses.

At the same time, relatives of people who are active in the resistance war for national liberation, homeland defense, and international duty are also entitled to preferential regimes according to Article 37 of Vietnam's Ordinance 02/2020/UBTVQH14, specifically:

+ One-time allowance for relatives when people who are active in the resistance war for national liberation, homeland defense or international duty die without enjoying preferential regimes.

+ Funeral allowance for people or organizations performing funerals when people who are active in the resistance war for national liberation, homeland defense, or international duty die.

Thus, in the above regimes, there are no preferential policies in education (or in other words, in university enrollment) for the children of people with meritorious services to the revolution.

Peoplein Vietnam  who are active in the resistance war for national liberation, defense, and international duty are those who participate in the resistance war and are commended by the State with the Resistance Order, Victory Order of , Resistance Medal, and War Medal.
