What conditions must milking equipment and tools meet?

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development issued Circular 13/2017/TT-BNNPTNT on the National Technical Regulation in the field of Veterinary Medicine.

According to Circular 13, equipment and tools at a milking facility must meet the following requirements:

- Milk storage tanks and milk pipes must be made of food-grade materials that do not rust or leach into the milk. They should have smooth surfaces, no crevices, be easy to clean; the milk storage tanks must have tightly fitting lids; the tanks and containers must have sufficient capacity to hold all the milk collected during the entire production shift.- Milk filtering cloths and udder-wiping cloths must be made of coarse fabric that easily absorbs water or must be single-use sterilized cloths, without discoloration, tearing. Use separate udder-wiping cloths for each dairy animal; the cloths must be cleaned, dried, and sterilized before each milking and udder wiping session.- The milking facility must have specialized tools for dipping the teats and tools for checking the initial streams of milk before milking.- All tools used during the milking process must be cleaned before and after milking and must be placed on racks at least 1 meter above the ground.
