Vietnam: Regulations on the form and duration of inspection of occupational safety of pressure vessels

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued Circular No. 10/2017/TT-BCT providing 18 procedures for technical inspection of occupational safety of machinery, equipment and supplies subject to strict occupational safety requirements.

According to Circular No. 10/2017/TT-BCT of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, form and duration of inspection of occupational safety of pressure vessels are as follows:

Initial inspection: After installation, before first use.

Periodic inspection:

- Internal and external inspection, hydraulic test (technical inspection): every 6 years.

- Internal and external search: every 3 years; for containers containing corrosive and explosive substances: every 2 years.

- In case the manufacturer specifies or the establishment requires a shorter time of safety technical inspection, follow the manufacturer's regulations or the requirements of the establishment.

- When shortening the inspection period, the inspector must clearly state the reason in the inspection record.

- When the inspection period is specified in the national technical regulations, the provisions of that regulation shall be followed.

Irregular inspection

- After repairing, upgrading or renovating, it affects the safe technical condition of the pressure vessel.

- After changing the installation position.

- The vessel stops working for 12 months or more.

- At the request of the establishment or the competent authority.
