Special Leave Policy for Military Personnel, Workers, and Civilian Defense Employees

In 2016, the Ministry of National Defense issued Circular 113/2016/TT-BQP stipulating leave policies for professional servicemen, defense workers, and public employees of the defense sector.

Besides the annual leave policies, professional soldiers, workers, and public employees in national defense are entitled to special leave of no more than 10 days in the following cases:

- Getting married; biological children or legally adopted children getting married.- Biological father, biological mother; father-in-law, mother-in-law; legal guardian of oneself, spouse; spouse; biological children, legally adopted children dying or suffering from severe illness or accidents requiring long-term treatment at medical facilities.- Family suffering significant losses in terms of people and properties due to accidents, natural disasters, or dangerous epidemics.

Regarding holiday and Tet leave, Circular 113/2016/TT-BQP stipulates as follows:

- Annually, professional soldiers, workers, and public employees in national defense are entitled to leave on holidays, Tet, and the founding day of the Vietnam People's Army.- In case public holidays and Tet coincide with weekly rest days, professional soldiers, workers, and public employees in national defense are entitled to compensatory leave on the following days.
