Requirements for Associate Degree Knowledge in Television Production Engineering

Higher education knowledge requirements for television program production technology major (Illustrative image)

Circular 19/2019/TT-BLDTBXH outlines the volume of knowledge that students are required to achieve upon graduation with an associate degree in Television Program Production Technology as follows:

- Analyze the pre-production process;- Analyze the post-production process;- Analyze the mobile television production process;- Describe the features, uses, operating procedures, and maintenance of cameras and support equipment;- Describe the procedures and requirements for data management and storage;- Analyze the procedures and requirements for studio management;- Present basic knowledge about the video system equipment in the studio and on the mobile television unit;- Provide an overview of audio techniques in pre-production and post-production; Describe the audio path equipment including Microphones, Audio Mixers, amplifiers, processing devices (EQ, Compressor, etc.), and various types of audio signal jacks and cables;- Present the installation, exploitation of basic and advanced functions in professional editing software; list and update new editing software;- Present technical specifications and functions of lighting equipment;- Analyze the structural diagram of the equipment system on the mobile television unit; Describe the structure and function of equipment used in mobile television program production;- Explain the working principles and technical characteristics of terrestrial digital television transmitters according to European DVB-T standards;- Present basic signal processing techniques in terrestrial digital television transmitters;- Describe the network system and the method of automatic broadcasting using servers;- Explain the basic principles of image creation, processing, and broadcasting;- Present theories on three-dimensional space, basic imaging methods, camera arrangement, lighting sources, etc.;- Present English technical terms related to the equipment, devices, and software used in television program production;- Present procedures and regulations regarding occupational safety, fire and explosion prevention, and electrical safety in television program production;- Present basic knowledge on politics, culture, society, law, national defense and security, and physical education according to regulations.
