Organization of the Coast Guard Forces According to the Ordinance on Vietnam Coast Guard Forces

According to the provisions in Chapter 3 of the Ordinance on the Vietnam Coast Guard Force 2008, the Vietnam Coast Guard Force includes officers, professional soldiers, non-commissioned officers, enlisted soldiers, national defense officials, and national defense workers. Accordingly:

- The appointment, dismissal, demotion; the conferment, promotion, demotion, and deprivation of military ranks of officers and soldiers of the Vietnam Coast Guard are carried out as follows:

- For officers, it is executed according to the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army;- For professional soldiers, non-commissioned officers, and enlisted soldiers, it is executed according to the Law on Military Service;- For national defense officials and national defense workers, it is executed according to the relevant legal provisions.

- The service regime of officers and soldiers in the Vietnam Coast Guard Force is executed according to the legal provisions applicable to officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army and other relevant legal provisions.

- The Vietnam Coast Guard Force has its own flag, insignia, and uniform as regulated by the Government of Vietnam.

While performing their duties, ships and other means of the Vietnam Coast Guard Force must fly the national flag and the Vietnam Coast Guard flag; officers and soldiers of the Coast Guard must wear the uniform and the Vietnam Coast Guard insignia.
