Minimum Skills for Freshwater Aquaculture at Intermediate Level

On December 28, 2018, Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH was issued by BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum amount of knowledge and the competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fishery, and veterinary medicine.

As stipulated in the regulations on the minimum amount of knowledge, and competency requirements that students need to acquire after graduating with an intermediate or college-level degree in the freshwater aquaculture sector, issued together with Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the minimum skills that learners must achieve after graduating in the freshwater aquaculture industry at the intermediate level are as follows:

- Identifying some species of farmed aquatic animals and some aquatic organisms in freshwater environments;

- Implementing the technological process of producing fry and commercially farming some economically valuable freshwater fish species;

- Executing the technological process of commercially farming some freshwater specialty aquatic species;

- Conducting the technological process of farming some cold-water aquatic species;

- Identifying and managing certain environmental factors in freshwater aquaculture;

- Preparing and using feed in freshwater aquaculture;

- Proficiently transporting freshwater aquatic animals safely and effectively;

- Applying integrated disease prevention methods; diagnosing and treating some common diseases in freshwater aquatic animals;

- Using some types of biological products, drugs, chemicals, equipment, tools, and specialized equipment in freshwater aquaculture safely and effectively;

- Updating legal regulations and state policies related to the freshwater aquaculture profession;

- Communicating effectively through writing, discussion, negotiation, and mastering situations;

- Consulting and providing materials and products related to aquaculture.

- Implementing the business model of freshwater aquaculture;

- Proficiently applying measures to ensure safety and occupational hygiene in aquaculture;

- Using basic information technology as per regulations; exploiting, processing, and applying information technology in the professional tasks of the industry;

- Using basic foreign languages, achieving level 1/6 in the Vietnam's Language Proficiency Framework; applying foreign languages in the professional tasks of the industry.
