Minimum Knowledge Requirements for the College Level in the Field and Profession of Dancer

Recently, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs issued Circular 19/2019/TT-BLDTBXH regulating the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation from intermediate and college levels in fields of arts, journalism, and information.

Circular 19/2019/TT-BLDTBXH stipulates the minimum knowledge requirements for the vocational discipline of dance performer, college level, as follows:

- Determine the position and role of performing artists in artistic programs, the impacts, and influences of arts in general and dance art in particular on the economy, politics, culture, and society;- Describe basic knowledge of Vietnamese and international dance arts, foundational knowledge of the dance discipline such as dance work analysis, music work analysis, anatomy, etc.;- Analyze basic and systematic knowledge of dance performance techniques and various dance styles such as European classical, contemporary, Vietnamese folk dance, and performance technical methods;- Identify specialized knowledge and techniques to practice and perform dance works as required;- Perform technical requirements and skills in solo, duet, and group dance works across different dance styles;- Present and analyze basic techniques and skills of various dance styles for practice and execution;- Describe related art forms in the discipline, such as stage performance art, makeup, and costumes;- Describe staging forms, the position, and role of performing artists on stage depending on each dance genre and specific performance art program;- List types of equipment and specialized tools used in dance practice and performance and explain their utility;- Present safety assurance methods for individuals and tools, equipment during performances;- Present basic knowledge of information technology, methods of utilizing software and applications for the discipline;- Identify basic State legal elements, principles for exploiting and using information, copyright regulations, and intellectual property;- Present basic knowledge of politics, culture, society, law, national defense and security, and physical education as prescribed.
