The People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City issued Resolution 09/2022/NQ-HDND on promulgating the fee for granting work permits to foreigners working in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Clause 1, Article 2 of Decree 152/2020/ND-CP, stipulating that foreign workers are foreign nationals, come to work in Vietnam in the following forms:
- Execution of labor contract.
- Moving within the enterprise.
- Performing all kinds of contracts or agreements on economy, commerce, finance, banking, insurance, science, technology, culture, sports, education, vocational education, and health.
- Contracted service provider
- Offering services.
- Working for a foreign non-governmental organization or an international organization in Vietnam that is permitted to operate in accordance with the provisions of Vietnamese law.
- Volunteers.
- Person responsible for establishing a commercial presence.
- Managers, executives, experts, and technical workers
- Participating in the implementation of bidding packages and projects in Vietnam.
- Relatives of members of foreign representative missions in Vietnam are allowed to work in Vietnam according to the provisions of international treaties to which the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is a signatory.
According to Resolution 09/2022/NQ-HDND stipulating on subjects' paying work permit fees for foreigners in Ho Chi Minh City,
Employers when performing administrative procedures for granting work permits, re-granting work permits, and granting work permit extensions to foreigners working in Ho Chi Minh City.
- Issuance of work permits: The collection rate is 600,000 VND/1 permit;
- Re-issuance of work permits: The rate of collection is 450,000 VND/1 permit;
- Issuance of extension of work permit: The rate of collection is 450,000 VND/1 permit.
Resolution 09/2022/NQ-HDND goes into effect on July 20, 2022, and replaces Resolution 11/2017/NQ-HDND, which was issued on October 7, 2017.
