This is the main content stipulated in Circular 42/2011/TT-BGDDT on Regulations for Commonly Used Textbooks, Organization of Compilation and Approval of Commonly Used Textbooks at the Intermediate Professional Level, issued by the Ministry of Education and Training on September 23, 2011.
The Editorial Committee is responsible for compiling shared-use syllabuses (Illustration)
According to Article 6 of Circular 42/2011/TT-BGDDT stipulating the Editorial Committee for compiling shared-use syllabuses as follows:
The compilation of shared-use syllabuses is carried out by an Editorial Committee for shared-use syllabuses (hereinafter referred to as the Editorial Committee) established by the Minister's decision, based on the proposal of the Unit responsible for organizing the syllabus compilation. The Editorial Committee comprises a Chief Editor and its members.
The composition of the Editorial Committee includes representatives of educators, educational management staff, or experts with experience in the subject matter and syllabus compilation; representatives of employment units or other units related to the subject matter of the syllabus to be compiled.
The number and structure of the Editorial Committee components depend on the professional requirements of each syllabus to be compiled and are proposed by the Unit responsible for organizing the syllabus compilation to the Minister for consideration and decision.
Specifically, the Editorial Committee will have the following tasks and powers:
- Develop a detailed outline for the shared-use syllabus to be compiled.- Compile the shared-use syllabus accurately according to the detailed outline approved by the Minister; ensure the quality, progress of compilation, and other requirements for the shared-use syllabus stipulated in Article 3 of this Regulation.- Collaborate with the organizing Unit to gather feedback, prepare relevant documents and materials concerning the drafting of the detailed outline and the draft shared-use syllabus.- Participate in meetings assessing the draft detailed outline and shared-use syllabus organized by the Editorial Committee.- Directly compile feedback and finalize the draft detailed outline and shared-use syllabus based on feedback and conclusions from the Appraisal Council. Reserve the right to retain opinions in cases where the Editorial Committee does not concur with the feedback or conclusions of the Appraisal Council.- Provide written explanations to the Minister regarding the acceptance or rejection of the Appraisal Council's conclusions and other feedback after each revision and finalization of the draft detailed outline and shared-use syllabus.- Maintain confidentiality of information related to the compilation, appraisal, and drafting of the detailed outline and shared-use syllabus.- Perform other tasks and powers related to syllabus construction as prescribed by law.
