On December 28, 2018, the Ministry of Labor - War Invalids and Social Affairs issued Circular 44/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum volume of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduation at the intermediate level and college level for industries and professions in the fields of computing and information technology.

Circular 44/2018/TT-BLDTBXH prescribes the vocational, technical fields of computer repair and assembly at the intermediate level and college level as follows:
- College-level computer repair and assembly techniques is a field that performs: Repair of basic components of computer systems, peripheral devices; assembly of computer hardware systems; software installation; design and installation of computer network systems; laptop repair; laptop maintenance; maintenance of computer systems; upgrading of computer systems. The minimum knowledge volume for college level is 2,250 hours (equivalent to 84 credits).- Intermediate-level computer repair and assembly techniques is a field that performs: Repair of basic components of computer systems; repair and maintenance of peripheral devices of computer systems; monitor repair; printer repair; assembly of computer hardware systems; software installation; design and installation of network systems; laptop repair; laptop maintenance; maintenance of computer systems; upgrading of computer systems. The minimum knowledge volume for the intermediate level is 1,450 hours (equivalent to 55 credits).- Individuals specializing in computer repair and assembly techniques typically work at companies equipped with computer systems, office devices; buildings equipped with computer systems; companies dealing with computers and information technology devices, manufacturers, maintenance providers of computers, equipment, and computer components.- Professionals in computer repair and assembly techniques require meticulousness, electrical and electronic safety; scientific and creative thinking methods; the ability to work independently or in groups; proficiency in English to read and understand specialized documents; a sense of organizational discipline, good health, a passion for the profession, and full awareness of their responsibilities to the community and society, meeting level 5 (college level) and level 4 (intermediate level) requirements in the Vietnamese national qualification framework.
