(1) Development objective until 2030

* Overall objectives

Tien Giang basically becomes an industrial province with a synchronous and modern infrastructure system, with dynamic regions and economic centers for industry, tourism, the marine economy, and urban areas. The province plays an important connecting role between the Mekong Delta, Ho Chi Minh City, and the Southeast region. National defense, security, social order, and safety are guaranteed. People have a prosperous, civilized, and happy life.

* Specific objectives (period 2021–2030)

- Economic:

+ Economic growth rate (GRDP) reaches 7.0 - 8.0%/year.

+ The proportion of GRDP in industry - construction accounts for 41.5–43.5%; service industry accounts for 29.5–30.0%; agriculture, forestry, and fishery accounts for 21.5–23.5%; product tax minus subsidies accounts for 5.5%.

+ Social labor productivity increases by an average of 9 - 10%/year.

+ Total budget revenue in the area increases by an average of 9 - 10%/year. Strive to balance budget revenues and expenditures by 2030.

- Regarding society:

+ The average population growth rate reaches 0.7%/year.

+ The rate of multidimensional poverty in households decreases by an average of 0.1 - 0.2 percentage points each year.

+ 100% of commune and district administrative units meet new rural standards, and the province completes the task of building new rural areas.

,+ The rate of trained workers reaches 75%, of which the rate of trained workers with degrees and certificates is 34%.

+ The rate of schools meeting national standards: preschool reached 85%; primary school reached 90%; and middle school and high school reached 85%.

+The ratio of doctors/ten thousand people is 9; the ratio of hospital beds per ten thousand people is 27; and the rate of people participating in health insurance is over 95%.

+ Urbanization rate reaches 45 - 47%.

- Regarding resources and environment:

+ Forest coverage rate is 1.57%.

+ 100% of the urban population and 90% of the rural population use clean water according to standards; 99% of urban domestic solid waste and 85% of rural domestic solid waste are collected and treated according to regulations.

+ The rate of urban domestic wastewater collected and treated to meet standards and regulations is over 50% for class II urban areas; reaching over 20% for the remaining urban areas. The rate of medical wastewater collected and treated reached 100%.

+ 100% of industrial parks and industrial clusters have centralized wastewater treatment systems that comply with regulations.

+ 100% of hazardous waste and medical solid waste are collected, transported, and handled according to regulations.

- Regarding national defense and security: ensuring national defense and security, building an orderly, disciplined, and safe society, and ensuring a peaceful and happy life for the People.

(2) Vision to 2050

Tien Giang has become a modern industrial province, with a fairly high level of development in the country and a synchronous and modern infrastructure system. To make a place worth living, cultural values are preserved and promoted. National defense, security, social order, and safety are guaranteed. The people have a prosperous, civilized, and happy life.
