What is the enrollment method of boarding ethnic secondary schools in Vietnam?
Based on Article 11 of the Organizational and Operational Regulations of boarding ethnic secondary schools issued along with Circular 04/2023/TT-BGDDT, the regulations are as follows:
Enrollment method, priority and direct admission
1. The enrollment method and priority benefits shall comply with the Regulation on enrollment of lower-secondary and upper-secondary boarding ethnic schools promulgated by the Ministry of Education and Training.
2. Direct admission
Direct admission to the upper-secondary boarding ethnic school of the following:
a) Students from ethnic minorities with very small population;
b) Lower secondary students specified in Article 9 of this Regulation who have won national or international prizes in culture, art, physical training, sports, science and technology are admitted directly into the upper-secondary boarding ethnic school;
c) Primary students specified in Article 9 of this Regulation who have won provincial prizes or higher in culture, arts, physical training and sports may be admitted directly to the lower-secondary boarding ethnic school.
Additionally, under Article 5 of the Regulations on Enrollment to Lower/Upper Secondary Schools issued along with Circular 11/2014/TT-BGDDT:
Candidates and Enrollment method
1. Ccandidates are learners who have graduated from lower secondary schools under the General Education Program or the Continuing Education Program with ages specified in Clause 2, Article 2 of these Regulations.
2. Enrollment to upper secondary schools are organized by one of the following three methods:
a) Admission: based on the results of conduct and academic performance over the 4 years of lower secondary education of the admissions candidates, if they have repeated a class, the results of the repeated year will be considered;
b) Entrance Exam;
c) Combination of Admission and Entrance Exam.
Thus, according to the above provisions, the enrollment method of boarding ethnic secondary schools in Vietnams includes:

What are the eligibility requirements for direct admission to boarding ethnic secondary schools in Vietnam?
According to Clause 2, Article 11 of the Organizational and Operational Regulations of boarding ethnic secondary schools issued along with Circular 04/2023/TT-BGDDT, the following students will be directly admitted to boarding ethnic secondary schools:
- Students from ethnic minorities with very small population;

According to Article 12 of the Organizational and Operational Regulations of boarding ethnic secondary schools issued along with Circular 04/2023/TT-BGDDT, the regulations are as follows:
Enrollment plan, enrollment
1. Enrollment plan
a) The Department of Education and Training shall prepare an enrollment plan for upper-secondary boarding ethnic schools in the province, submit it to the province-level People's Committee for approval and promulgation. The enrollment plan contains the following main contents: eligible candidates, locations, enrollment methods and targets; enrollment rates in extremely disadvantaged communes and villages and other areas; administering the enrollment activities;
b) Friendship 80 School, Friendship T78 School, Viet Bac Highland School shall make enrollment plans, report them to the governing body and submit to the Ministry of Education and Training for approval.
2. Enrollment
a) The Department of Education and Training provides guidance on enrollment for boarding ethnic schools with the highest educational level being upper secondary and enrollment instructions for Departments of Education and Training that have lower secondary boarding ethnic schools;
b) Friendship 80 School, Friendship T78 School, Viet Bac Highland School shall administer enrollment according to the approved plan.
Thus, the Department of Education and Training provides guidance on enrollment for boarding ethnic schools with the highest educational level being upper secondary and enrollment instructions for Departments of Education and Training that have lower secondary boarding ethnic schools.
