Vietnam: List of medical devices subject to mandatory safety and technical inspection

Recently, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam issued the Circular No. 33/2020/TT-BYT on the List of medical devices subject to mandatory safety and technical inspection.

According to the Circular No. 33/2020/TT-BYT of the Health Ministry of Vietnam, the List of medical devices subject to mandatory safety and technical inspection include:

- Medical devices procured from September 1, 2021 must be conducted for safety and technical inspection as prescribed by the Minister of Health, medical devices procured before September 1, 2021 must be conducted inspection before December 31, 2022.

+ Breathing machine.

+ Anesthetic breathing machine.

+ Electric scalpel.

+ Infant incubator.

+ Defibrillator.

+ Hemodialysis machine.

The Circular No. 33/2020/TT-BYT of the Health Ministry of Vietnam takes effect from March 01, 2021. The Ministry of Health of Vietnam is responsible for reviewing and amending a list of other type B, C and D medical devices subject to mandatory safety and technical inspection on an annual basis.
