Vietnam’s regulation on specialized classrooms in automobile driving training from June 1, 2024 

Clause 1 Article 1 of Decree No. 41/2024/ND-CP on amendments to Clause 1 Article 6 of Decree No. 65/2016/ND-CP (amended by Decree No. 138/2018/ND-CP) on the system of specialized classrooms in automobile driving training is as follows: 

- Theoretical classrooms shall have equipment used for teaching the law on road traffic, driver’s morality, traffic culture, prevention and combat against harmful effects of alcohol when driving, and prevention and control of fire and explosions and rescue; pictures or other electronic forms of road signal systems and driving courses; 

- Technical classrooms shall have projection equipment used for teaching the structure, normal repair, and driving techniques; if the projection equipment does not have videos or images simulating the suspension system, brake system, steering system, and basic driving operations (i.e., adjusting the driving seats, driving posture, steering wheel holding positions, etc.), there must be pictures; models of engine cross-sections, power transmission systems, and electrical systems. If there are no models of engine cross-sections, power transmission systems, and electrical systems, it is mandatory to use projection equipment containing videos and images for simulation. 

The following items shall be equipped: specialized tools to instruct learners to practice tire disassembly and inspection of vehicle oil and coolant (may be arranged in a separate area); automobiles safely jacked up to practice basic driving operations with the engine on and off (may be arranged in a separate area); simulation equipment used for driving training; 

- Automobile driving training facilities shall arrange the number of theoretical and technical classrooms in conformity with the number of learners and training programs. Specifically, there must be at least 1 theoretical classroom and 1 technical classroom for under 500 learners; 2 theoretical classrooms and 2 technical classrooms for 500 to 1.000 learners; 3 theoretical classrooms and 3 technical classrooms for more than 1.000 learners.
