Validity of license to use 1710-1785 MHz and 1805-1880 MHz frequency bands in Vietnam from June 14, 2024

The license to use 1710-1785 MHz and 1805-1880 MHz frequency bands in Vietnam before the effective date of Circular 03/2024/TT-BTTTT can continue to be used in Vietnam  until the expiry date recorded in the license.

For the frequency band use license granted under the provisions of Circular 03/2024/TT-BTTTT, the existing mobile information systems as per GSM standards on the 1710-1785 MHz and 1805-1880 MHz bands can continue to be used under the following conditions:

- From September 16, 2024, services for terminal devices that only support the GSM standard will not be provided, except for when services are provided for terminal devices connecting to the GSM network for the purpose of data transmission and reception between devices (M2M)3 or providing services in the Truong Sa, Hoang Sa archipelagos, and DK platforms area;

- They may continue to be used from September 16, 2024, until the end of September 15, 2026, and are only permitted to use frequency bands not utilized by information systems according to the IMT-Advanced and IMT-2020 standards, except for when services are provided in the Truong Sa, Hoang Sa archipelagos, and DK platforms area;

- They must not cause harmful interference to information systems operating according to the IMT-Advanced and IMT-2020 standards in the 1710-1785 MHz and 1805-1880 MHz frequency bands.

More details can be found in Circular 03/2024/TT-BTTTT, which comes into force in Vietnam from June 14, 2024.

Abolish Clause 2.3.1, Article 1, and related regulations on the 1710-1785 MHz and 1805-1880 MHz bands in Decision 25/2008/QD-BTTTT regarding the approval of the frequency band plan for digital cellular information systems of Vietnam in the 821-960 MHz and 1710-2200 MHz bands.

Abolish related regulations concerning the 1710-1785 MHz and 1805-1880 MHz frequency bands in Circular 04/2017/TT-BTTTT which stipulates the deployment of IMT mobile information systems on the 824-835 MHz, 869-915 MHz, 925-960 MHz, 1710-1785 MHz, 1805-1880 MHz, 1920-1980 MHz, 2110-2170 MHz frequency bands.
