The Ministry of Transport of Vietnam asked its attached agencies to take the lead in reducing plastic waste

This is a notable content of the Official Dispatch No. 10/CT-BGTVT of the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam on strengthening the management, reuse, recycling, treatment and reduction of plastic waste in transportation activities.

Specifically, in order to effectively carry out the tasks assigned by the Prime Minister at the Official Dispatch No. 33/CT-TTg and Decision No. 1746/QĐ-TTg, the Minister of Transport of Vietnam requested state management agencies and public non-business units under the Ministry of Transport to perform the following tasks:

- Be exemplary, active and at the forefront of reducing plastic waste, minimizing the use of single-use plastic products (including non-biodegradable plastic bags, plastic bottles, straws, styrofoam food containers, etc.); do not use single-use banners, slogans, bottles, cups, straws, bowls, plastic chopsticks, etc. at work and during conferences, seminars, meetings and holidays, anniversaries and other events; prioritize the selection of environmentally friendly and recycled products;

- Pioneering and exemplary in classifying waste at source right at the office, arranging trash cans to classify waste at agencies and units; plastic waste and other recyclable waste must not be mixed with organic waste;
