Technical Classification Standards for Class 3 Military Jet Pilots in Vietnam

Recently, the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam issued Circular 120/2020/TT-BQP regulating the technical grading of pilots and crew members in the Vietnam People's Army.

In Article 7 of Circular 120/2020/TT-BQP, the standards for Class 3 Military Jet Pilots in Vietnam are stipulated as follows:

- Technical proficiency in flying, navigation, and combat application:

- Must be a jet aircraft military pilot without rank;

- Must have been examined and approved for flight in technical flying, navigation, and combat application curricula suitable to the aircraft's features, according to the combat training programs and flight regulations issued by the competent authority, meeting operational readiness requirements in simple and complex meteorological conditions during the day (or by day over the high sea).

- Flight hour standards:

- Total accumulated flight hours for fighter jet pilots and fighter-bomber pilots ≥ 400 hours, and for multi-role fighter jet pilots ≥ 450 hours;

- Accumulated flight hours on the current aircraft for transitioning pilots ≥ 50 hours.

More details can be found in Circular 120/2020/TT-BQP, which takes effect in Vietnam on January 1, 2021.
