Support amount for on-duty forces participating in maintaining security and order at the grassroots level who have not paid health insurance premiums in Vietnam

This content is mentioned in Decree 40/2024/ND-CP dated April 16, 2024, detailing certain provisions of the Law on Forces Participating in Maintaining Security and Order at Grassroots Level 2023 issued by the Government of Vietnam.

Support amount for on-duty forces participating in maintaining security and order at the grassroots level who have not paid health insurance premiums in Vietnam

To enjoy policies as stipulated in Clause 2, Article 24 of the Forces participating in maintaining security and order at the grassroots level 2023, participants must meet the following conditions:

Participants of the on-duty force maintaining security and order at the grassroots level as assigned, planned by competent authorities, or when mobilized, if they fall ill, get into an accident, or get injured, will be supported with payment of medical examination and treatment costs at medical facilities as per regulations.

However, if participants fall into one of the following categories, they will not be entitled to receive medical examination and treatment costs if they fall ill, get into an accident, or get injured:

- Not belonging to the cases stipulated in Clause 1, Article 5 of the Decree 40/2024/ND-CP;

- Intentionally self-harming their health;

- Suffering from accidents due to personal conflicts with the person causing the accident that are not related to the performance of duties;

- Suffering from accidents due to the use of alcohol, beer, drugs, psychotropic substances, drug precursors, or other addictive substances according to the law.

Regarding the support amount: Participants of the force maintaining security and order at the grassroots level will receive medical examination and treatment costs and daily meal allowances during inpatient treatment until health stability upon discharge, according to the level decided by the Provincial People's Council.

More details can be found in Decree 40/2024/ND-CP effective from July 1, 2024.

The following documents will be rendered ineffective from the date Decree 40/2024/ND-CP takes effect:

- Decree 38/2006/ND-CP on Neighborhood Guard;

- Decree 73/2009/ND-CP detailing the implementation of certain provisions of the Ordinance on Commune Police Security.
