the Government of Vietnam has just issued Decree 43/2020/ND-CP stipulating the execution of the death penalty by lethal injection.

Participants in the execution of the death penalty are entitled to the following policies:

- Members of the Execution Team for the death penalty are entitled to a remuneration policy three times the statutory pay rate when executing the death penalty for one person and a 10-day rest period in accordance with the general rest policy for officers and soldiers of the People's Police and the People's Army;- Members of the Execution Council, supervising officers, persons responsible for audio and video recording, photography, interpretation, fingerprinting the person being executed, and those handling the shrouding and burial of the corpse are entitled to a remuneration policy one time the statutory pay rate when executing the death penalty for one person;- Participants ensuring security and order; representatives of the commune-level People's Committee; and investigators are entitled to a remuneration policy of half the statutory pay rate when executing the death penalty for one person.
