On December 18, 2024, the Prime Minister of Vietnam issued Directive 45/CT-TTg regarding strengthening measures to ensure a joyful, healthy, safe, and economical Lunar New Year in 2025. It includes content on the time for disbursing pensions and social insurance benefits.
The Prime Minister of Vietnam has instructed the Vietnam Social Security to effectively implement the settlement and disbursement of social insurance and unemployment insurance policies, ensuring completeness and promptness for beneficiaries. The Social Security is to consolidate the payments for two months of retirement pensions and social security allowances (January and February 2025) into the payment period of January 2025 to facilitate policy beneficiaries in celebrating the New Year and welcoming the Tet festival.
In addition, to optimally prepare the conditions for the people to celebrate the Lunar New Year of At Ty in a joyful, healthy, safe, and economical manner, the Prime Minister also requires the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to lead and cooperate with relevant ministries, central authorities, and local authorities to focus on reviewing and understanding the living conditions of policy beneficiaries and disadvantaged individuals (poor households, near-poor households, compatriots in areas affected by natural disasters, epidemics, remote areas, border areas, islands, ethnic minority areas, workers, laborers, those who have lost employment...) to provide attention, care, and promptly apply suitable support policies.
Organize visits and gift-giving accurately to the right subjects and according to policies, ensuring transparency, avoiding duplication, overlap, and preventing exploitation or profiteering of policies, ensuring that all policy beneficiaries receive gifts before Tet.
Monitor and grasp the labor situation in industrial zones, export processing zones, and economic zones, especially in localities with a high concentration of workers, to facilitate workers’ Tet holidays and their return to work after Tet; pay attention to supporting workers with significant income reductions, job loss, or underemployment due to the impact of natural disasters, epidemics, and business contractions.
