Information allowed to be shared with Vietnam national database on population

The Minister of Public Security of Vietnam issued Circular 46/2022/TT-BCA dated November 4, 2022, on the connection, sharing and exploitation of information between the National Database on Population and the National Database, Specialized Database and other information systems.

According to Vietnam's Circular 46/2022/TT-BCA, the information allowed to be shared for the Vietnam national population database system includes:

- Common electronic civil status, residence, citizen identification, medical, and other specialized databases:

sharing information about citizens for the national population database in accordance with the law in Vietnam;

- Specialized information about citizens (as defined in Appendix I of Circular 46/2022/TT-BCA) shared with the Ministry of Public Security by agencies and organizations:

The national population database management agency, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, is the focal point for receiving, exploiting, and using data for population management and meeting other professional requirements of the Police of units and localities according to their assigned functions, tasks, and powers.

Vietnam's Circular 46/2022/TT-BCA takes effect on December 19, 2022.
